Our online booking and payment system is with Hotels Online  and Evo Payments International.  If you place your booking from our website, you provide your payment information including your name, credit or debit card number, card expiration date, CV2 number and billing address. We securely store your address, credit card details and contact details to fulfil your order. Note that third-party payment processors (eg may retain this information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms.

We do not share your personal information. Any information provided by you is processed through Hotels Online for your booking information and Evo Payments International for your payment information. We may preserve or disclose information about you to comply with the law, regulation, legal process or governmental request; to assert legal rights or defend against legal claims; or to prevent, detect or investigate illegal activity, fraud, abuse, violations of our terms, or threats to the security of the Services  or the physical threat of any person.

We retain your booking information, for example your name, address and telephone number continuously unless disclosed by you that you would like us to delete the information.

What is your Cancellation Policy for bookings made by telephone?

  • Our rooms are usually ready for occupation by noon, so this time will be deemed to be the cut-off point for any cancellations. (example - two rooms with scheduled arrival on a Monday should be cancelled before noon on the previous Friday to avoid any potential charges)
  • You should advise any cancellation, postponement or partial cancellation to the Hotel management in the first instance verbally, and then in writing by You.
  • In all cases, the Hotel will try to re-let the accommodation, and any income received from the re-let rooms will be fully deducted from the cancellation charge. If the re-letting of the accommodation does not fully cover the cancellation charge, an account for the remaining amount will be sent to You immediately after the last scheduled day of the cancelled accommodation.
  • So as to be fair to You, the Hotel applies a percentage to its cancellation charges. These are 90% of all contracted accommodation revenue including room hire, and 65% of all contracted food and beverage revenue, being our loss of profit

We may cancel your booking at any time and without any obligation to you if: the hotel or any part of the hotel is closed due to circumstances beyond our control, you fail to meet the deposit terms required with the booking, you have exceeded any agreed credit facilities with us, or we believe your booking might prejudice the reputation of our hotel.

Bookings made through any online booking agency are subject to the terms and conditions of that particular internet site, including our own website.

Does The George Hotel have a car park?

Yes, we have a car park at the rear for about eight cars. There are also no parking restrictions in The Market Place or surrounding streets.

What time can we check-in and check-out?

Usually you can check-in from 1.00pm. Check-out time is 11.00am. If you would like to check-in before 1.00pm, please advise us at the time of booking and we will endeavour to have your room ready earlier.

When are meal times?

Daily between 8.00am and 9.30am (Continental breakfast from 7.30am)
Courtyard and Market Place Restaurant: 12.00pm - 1.45pm

Copurtyard and Market Place Restaurant from 6.00pm until 8.15pm

We're on Dinner, Bed and Breakfast - can we have a lighter meal instead?

You have the full daily food allowance of the evening meal, whether you decide to eat in the Restaurant or Courtyard.

Do you accept animals?

Only Seeing/Hearing dogs for the visually/aurally impaired are accepted.
